五一劳动节又称“五一国际劳动节”“国际示威游行日”，是世界上80多个国家的全国性节日，定在每年的五月一日，它是全世界劳动人民共同拥有的节日。源于政治事件和文化传统,它象征着中国人民不畏艰险、奋勇前进的精神。劳动节是庆祝社会主义物质文明建设和精神文明建设的一个重要日子。

In July 1889, Engels led the second International Congress in Paris. The meeting adopted a resolution stipulating that the international workers should hold a march on May 1, 1890, and decided to make May 1 as international labor day.
